Trained as an architect, the owner envisioned a rambling cabin in the woods with varied roof lines, rustic materials, and an unconventional log style. After trading ideas back and forth, principal Van Bryan developed the idea of a central, open living space surrounded by three separate pods including guest suites, a master bedroom suite, and a garage. "Ours is truly a custom home that we worked out together," the owner stated.

The home turned out class, innovative, and remarkably homely. "Everyone just loves the feel of the house. It's a warm cozy, modern log cabin that FEELS like a cabin."
