Creative Empty Nesters wanted a total redux of their two story canyon home. They’d done a major renovation twenty years before and now were looking for a different feel, a way to express themselves more intimately than before.

The main areas of focus were gutting and renovating every bathroom in the house, creating a new, versatile layout for the living room, creating a cozy theater room, a functional exercise room, and updating the master bedroom with luxe fabrics and furnishings. Additionally, they wanted to re-claim the backyard which was suffering from a poorly designed pergola that was falling into disrepair.

We answered the call by designing several custom pieces of furniture and built-ins for the interior of the house, to mix with classic design pieces from well known retailers. We choose an intricate palate of primary colors and worked it into each room as a themed progression. We created original works of art to use as wall murals, water features and rugs. Finally, we carefully chose lighting which could be use highlight or accent as needed, while still providing functional task lighting for these avid readers.

The result is a beautifully tailored, inviting home which showcases their extensive art collection, love of whimsy and desire to entertain.
