Mosier Contemporary Addition
This 1800 sf addition to a hillside home in Mosier married contemporary detailing with a high performance building envelope and renewable energy system. The building shell was airsealed after framing and then tested with a blower door to ensure we met our goal of achieving air leakage of less than 1.5 air changes per hour at 50 pa. The walls were dense packed with cellulose and the roof insulated to R-60. This tight super-insulated shell allowed us to reduce the size and cost of the high performance heat pump. The roof holds a 4900 watt PV system with a 2-collector solar hotwater system.
