Natural Freeform All Tile Pool

2014 Southwest Regional Design Award Winner. The design of this small pool was driven by the century old oak trees in the yard. Nestled between two of these trees, the pool and patio areas were designed to take full advantage of shade and sunlight. Even on the hottest day, you can find refuge from the scorching sun or soak in the rays on the pool’s beach or the deck’s lounge area.
The client wanted the pool to make a statement yet maintain a natural look. This pool accomplished that by combining modern finishes and construction techniques with the natural setting to provide the perfect back yard oasis. The large artificial rock grotto, waterfalls, and boulders provide stunning visual features that enhance the natural look as well as provide bathers with a private sanctuary behind a sheet of water. The stone coping is purposely random shaped to enhance the natural look. The stone also caps the beach with an inlayed star. As the client does a great deal of evening entertaining, the project includes an extraordinary lighting package that synchronized the pool lighting with landscape lighting, making a spectacular evening showplace. Perhaps the most striking feature, however, is the all tile interior that uses a black iridescent glass tile. The tile work is breathtaking and definitely provided the client with the “statement” he was looking for.
