This garden was a tangled mess of weeds and gravel, covered in swaths of black plastic in an attempt to kill the weeds.
I created a naturalistic garden with an organic feel for this Midcentury Modern house by Keck and Keck in Chicago's North Shore. The property abuts the forest preserve so had to have a relaxed feel. Low-maintenance and native plants highlight a kidney-shaped lawn that has a gentle undulation.
