This sweet pink nursery was designed for a client who was pregnant with her first child. She wanted to embrace the traditional American baby girl color of pink, but also give it a little transitional flair.
The fretwork patterned wallpaper was a bold accent and the pink linen drapery helped wrap the solid paint color to that side of the room, breaking up the pattern and ensuring a smooth visual flow. We did the same thing with the white color by placing several adorable picture frames and the initial "e" above the painted bookcase on the solid pink wall.
The upholstered chair is actually a swivel glider - much better looking (and more comfortable) than your normal run-of-the-mill rocking chair.
Perhaps my favorite part of the design was the fabric upholstered "safe" artwork above the crib. There was no midnight worries for this Momma, her baby's artwork is secured to the wall as steadfastly as the baseboard trim around the floor. And of course the fabric is pretty and fun to look at!
