The island is the hub of the kitchen with a trash/recycle pullout, a hidden paper towel holder, tray storage and wine rack. A toe kick vacuum is hidden under the trash pullout cabinet making sweeping up a breeze.

The three foot opening from the kitchen to the dining room was enlarged to 10' improving the view and the flow between rooms. The beams were custom made in our shop from Douglas Fir and a custom stain color created.

The cabinet provider custom made the cabinet to include the paper towel holder. Finding a convenient place for paper towels is always difficult when the sink is in an island. This is a perfect solution.
