Old Spice Warehouse
The 5 flat panel displays flush mounted throughout the home benefit from 8 different video sources which are cleanly centralized in a rack to reduce clutter and keep all electronics in a dust free enclosed rack. Choosing from several Tivos or cable boxes, two Apple TVs, a Chromecast, or a local PC is a breeze using the handheld remotes with custom engraved buttons for each video source. The main living room zone boasts a 75" screen mounted on the original brick walls from the 1800s, with completely hidden wire runs. This living area also in enhanced by a surround sound system with hidden speakers and subwoofer - which makes for a neat and clean look.
The lighting control system is powered by 32 Crestron infinet devices which allow for easy to use scene control and conveniently placed keypad functions throughout the living space. These same infinet keypads allow the homeowner to control 28 different shades which can either block out light completely at night with black out shades, or allow a subtle glow to emanate throughout if only the sheers are used.
For comfort and convenience, the building HVAC system was integrated into the system as well, allowing the homeowner to control 2 zones of heating and cooling easily from a touchpanel, mobile tablet or phone. This comes in handy for the owner, who travels often to the west coast - allowing them to shut down the units remotely and turn them back on upon landing back in NYC so that a comfortable climate is reached by the time they arrive back home.
One of the favorite features added to the system was an integration with the building's access control system. Whenever a visitor or food delivery service arrives outside, they can easily be viewed and let in through any panel in the home- even when the homeowner is out of town. This feature required coordination with the building security company, and includes video encoders to digitize the analog security video feeds the building provided, as well as a network connected relay device which communicates with the electronic door strike and elevator service.
The electronic enhancements made to this historic property are what set it apart as one of the most livable luxury condos in the city.
