This backyard space which sits in between the home and the garage had a ton of potential from the get-go. We broke up the yard into lounge area and cooking/dining area. We constructed a pergola over a patch of synthetic turf which acted as the lounge area complete with two swivel chairs, a complimentary sofa, and a concrete fire-pit. The food-prep station was built up against the custom fence that we built entirely out of Ipe and steel to create a clean and modern feel.
