In this kitchen, the locations of the refrigerator and cooktop were flipped. The slim Miele hood above the cooktop rolls out from under the upper cabinet, then virtually disappears when rolled back. Glass doors on the upper cabinets are illuminated to show off accessories and add additional light. Recessed ceiling lights and pendants over the island all have 3000K LED bulbs which makes this kitchen light and bright. The island is stained walnut to flow with furniture in the adjoining family room and contrast with the white custom cabinets. Classic polished nickel hardware was selected for the cabinetry. The Arabesque tile on the backsplash is recycled tile combining Carrara marble with polished and crackled tiles in a blend of grays and taupes. The counter top on the perimeter of the kitchen is taupe quartz, and the island is topped with a white quartz slab and drifts of gray resembled Carrara marble.
