Pacific Northwest Kitchen Oasis
The homeowners reached out to us with a vision: to enhance the connection between their kitchen and dining space, making the stunning Pacific Northwest view the star of this beautiful mid-century kitchen remodel. Their passion for cooking and desire to create a welcoming space for large family gatherings drove this exciting transformation.
To create a more spacious environment, we removed the wall separating the kitchen and dining area, enhancing the entertaining space and making room for a larger table to accommodate family gatherings. This wall contained the electrical wires for the existing exterior blinds that provided sun shading from the western exposure. Due to the vast amount of glass on the exterior wall and structural framing, relocating the switching was going to be a challenging. To address this, we devised a solution to thicken the refrigerator panel wall, allowing us to keep the switching near its existing location without compromising the overall aesthetic of the space. Updating the fireplace became essential part of the project to complement the home's new aesthetic. This upgrade not only ensured the fireplace fit seamlessly into the overall design but also enhanced its visual appeal.
To ensure the space maintained clean lines and complemented the mid-century style of the home, we selected Quartzite countertops and natural wood elements with vertical grain to enhance the long, straight cabinetry. Extra attention to detail was made to ensure that everything looked perfectly symmetrical, enhancing the overall harmony and aesthetic appeal of the space. Intricate tile detailing around the windows preserved the clean lines and mid-century modern aesthetic. Painted steel mantels bring a sleek modern element to the fireplace. Integrated natural wood with vertical grain cabinets draw the eye upward, creating a more spacious feel. A slated wall provided division between the kitchen and hallway spaces while maintaining transparency.
Lighting played a pivotal role in enhancing the ambiance of the home. A sleek, elongated linear light was seamlessly integrated above the island, casting a warm and inviting glow. Throughout the space, Acculux can lights were strategically placed to infuse an air of elegance and sophistication, creating a harmonious blend of style and functionality.
