Pala, Piedmont Master Suite

Period restoration and remodel of an existing master suite that had been created in 60's or 70's in this beautiful turn of the 20th century home. The entire area was de-constructed. All salvageable trim, doors and windows were restored and re-used. A beautiful coffered ceiling that had been hidden in the decades earlier remodel was repaired and once again exposed.

View towards the water closet and master bath entry. Douglas Fir T&G flooring removed throughout bath to access for plumbing, heating and electrical installations then re-installed in the water closet, bathroom entry and walk-in closet.

New master bath. This area taken down to studs, re-framed; all rough plumbing; electrical, and mechanical installations performed. Warm floor installed. Floor, shower surround and baseboard finished with Calcutta Marble.

Stairs to 2nd story. Carpeting was removed. Wood work was recondtioned. Original Douglas Fir treads were refinished. Risers and railings were painted.

Hallway had two layers of finished floor removed, two doors on the near right hand wall removed as part of the master suite remodel, base shoe added to close the gap left by the removal of 5/16" hardwood strip flooring and Douglas Fir tongue & groove floor re-finished.

Entry door to the master suite. Carpeting and oak flooring in the hall was removed. Original Douglas Fir floors were refinished. Crown mould was added to the door casing lintel. Walls, ceiling and trim were repainted.

Note restored coffered ceiling. Crown moulding added to window casing, and salvaged fireplace cabinet. Walls and ceilings throughout painted with Benjamin Moore, Affinity Colors in mat finish.

Antique beveled mirrored fireplace cabinet purchased on E-Bay. Calcutta Marble Hearth installed flush with the wood floor surface. Electric fireplace-heater fitted with custom manufactured steel shroud .
