The weight of the stone architecture required an even heftier foreground. These 3-6' boulders ground the architecture and create lovely pockets for the contrasting grasses. So as not to appear too blowsy, we included specimen evergreens such as this bristlecone pine.

This is one of 3 fountains & 4 patios the Client requested. Amid all the stone and concrete, we thought it would be fun to soften things up with a few plants that might have drifted in on their own. So we chose a yucca, of course.
