Client wanted turf grass removed from the front yard and replaced with a drought tolerant, water wise landscape. We decided to up the ante and included ecological landscape design elements like a rainwater harvesting swale that is lined with rocks to form a dry streambed (creek bed). This rainwater harvesting system allows the water to infiltrate into the landscape where it benefits plants and soil biology.
