River Bench Residence
Located on a six acre site fronting the Missouri River, the River Bench Residence is sited on a grassy higher plateau, sheltered by a perimeter of tall Cottonwood trees. A single story design, the house addresses the scale of the site by creating a variety of courtyard experiences, some private and contained, and others more expansive, accommodating outdoor activities. Thick stone walls surround the bedroom wing, providing privacy and a buffer to the harsh north winds. A lighter copper and glass living pavilion offers views to the river beyond.
