Rock Bottom

This home celebrates the clients penchant for bold color and pattern, non-traditional design elements and the homeowner’s literal hands on approach. The desired style was coined that of a “successful Telluride miner” which was achieved through a mix of rustic and refined materials, a rich color palette, and perfectly imperfect hand wrought touches to create a sense of relaxed comfort.

Challenges included highlighting carefully budgeted materials unique in nature or application and infusing warmth to balance the hard surfaces. Custom touches include sawcut concrete floor patterns, an art wall to conceal kitchen cabinetry and appliances, an exposed flu fireplace, and even a custom logo for the house, “Rock Bottom”, repeated in a custom fabric and other details. Many pieces were designed by this designer and fabricated by the homeowner including Master and Powder Bath sinks and kitchen island counter among others!

The end result is a delightfully enchanting rustic retreat!
