Located on a quiet, private lake, this home went from mauve to marvelous by making careful function and finish selections. The formal dining room was replaced by a library to house the homeowner's impressive design, wine and architecture book collections. The fireplace was brought out from the wall and wrapped in split face travertine. An outdated back splash was replaced with more travertine to make the space cohesive. A wall was removed between the kitchen and living room and a rough hewn beam was added for support and rustic value. Floors were replaced with hard wood throughout. A quiet paint color was selected to make the space feel more lofty and more open to the magnificent view outdoors.
