This lovely San Juan Capistrano home is now an ecological oasis! Previously, the front yard was a very water thirsty space with a driveway that was lifting and cracking pathways. We created a refreshed look with interlocking pavers for the driveway and pathways, and a new front patio as well. Additionally, we had a custom metal gate made for the side yard. The space has a significant slope towards the street, so we added a short retaining wall to ensure the soil and plant material is secure. The mostly California native and all low water use plant material brings this space to life with birds, bees, butterflies and more. A decomposed granite pathway leads to a custom wood bridge over the dry creek. The dry creek is connected to the home's rain gutter system and will infiltrate thousands of gallons of rain each year! The homeowners can now sit and relax on their front patio, and enjoy this serene view, all while knowing they are also having a very positive impact on the environment!
