Sand’s Point Long Island house renovation MVA was consulted for the construction document set for the gut renovation of a house in Sands Point for CDR Studio Architects. The house was entirely re-clad with a burnt cedar shou-sugi-ban plank rainscreen .The exterior envelope was thermally enhanced with the addition of insulation and the replacement of all windows. The views to the outside were accentuated with broad expanses of glass. The custom finishes and millwork were carefully integrated with the interior terrazzo flooring.
