Sascha

The colorful character and charm of this historic Queen Anne craftsman served as a great source of design inspiration when remodeling the home’s kitchen and splitting a single family bathroom into two useable bath spaces.

The client’s love of color helped define some bold design decisions throughout, from the green kitchen cabinets, to the blue tiles, down to a refinishing of the home’s original checkerboard painted wood floor. A new kitchen layout helped provide better workflow for a family that all love to take turns cooking, along with functional butcherblock work surfaces and plenty of storage solutions to aid in their culinary endeavors. New corner windows helped illuminate a space that previously felt dim, and a larger arched opening to the dining room connects the kitchen to the rest of the main floor. Upstairs, a small bathroom originally shared by the whole family was divided into an ensuite and secondary bathroom, with creative built-in storage solutions to help keep clutter at bay, colorful tiles and large windows to brighten their early morning routines, and a little extra privacy for everyone.
