Combining a separate walk-in pantry and hallway into the inefficient original kitchen afforded enough space for more than one cook in the kitchen at a time. Frequent entertainers, a wine bar was incorporated at one end of the kitchen, out of the way of the main cooking area and easily accessed from the living area through a second entrance. A patterned tile floor adds personality and whimsy to the space.
