My client was a very sweet, elderly woman who was soon to celebrate her mother's 100th birthday and wanted her kitchen done by party time. I already had the privilege to redo her main bathroom and was blessed she called me back for the kitchen remodel. She asked for 'white everything, simple and feels clean all the time, but practical because she couldn't clean all the time.' Her mom had a walker which would need a non-slip surface. The island needed to be durable to take the hits from the walker without showing them. So we utilized the darker multi-tone, vinyl, plank floor that always looks clean, is water resistent, and is non-slip; a gray island to hide the walker traffic, and white/gray marble quartz that will not stain, chip, can take hot pans straight from burner, and always looks beautiful.
