The existing floor plan for this kitchen was very small and tight. There was also an exterior door that used up a lot of potential functional space, and windows that were blocked due to an upper cabinetry peninsula. Therefore, the homeowners were eager to completely change the space to make it feel more open and connect the room with the dining room.
We removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room which required support in the basement below, as well as header support in the ceiling to carry the weight of the home. Once we completed the framing/sheetrock/rough-in stages, we were excited to see the custom cabinetry installed with the contrasting granite countertops. The outcome of this kitchen was well received and a well thought out, successful project.
