This custom step-down reef aquarium was installed at Turn14 Distribution in Horsham, Pennsylvania as part of the company's executive office space.
The client wanted to create a more open connection between two offices while still maintaining privacy between the workspaces. Rather than using a traditional wall, a custom built-in reef aquarium was incorporated into the divider, allowing light and visibility to pass between the rooms while the reef structure itself helps create a natural privacy screen.
One of the most unique features of this project is the custom step-down aquarium design. Built with two distinct viewing elevations, the aquarium creates additional depth throughout the reef structure while providing a more dynamic viewing experience from both offices.
The aquarium was designed as a complete life-support system with hidden filtration, plumbing, pumps, and service access concealed behind the custom wood-paneled wall. Although the finished display appears clean and simple from the office side, all equipment remains easily accessible for long-term operation and maintenance.
Following installation, Aqua Creations supplied the livestock and continues to provide ongoing reef aquarium maintenance and support. Regular service visits include equipment inspections, water testing, livestock evaluations, and routine care to help ensure the long-term success of the aquarium.
