Stonemanse
The ambitious program for the 4 acre gently rolling suburban site included vehicular circulation and parking within a small, sloping portion of the site and passive and active recreation spaces for a young couple and their four teenage sons. The sprawling home occupies the highest point on the site and the surrounding land falls away to the property line. The design called for several large landscape terraces to step down the slope, one each for the swimming pool/pool house, tennis court and a large lawn terrace with direct connections to the outdoor living spaces of the house. Boldly colored lush plantings contribute to the creation of this modern American garden, which combines harmoniously with landscape structures which take cues from the French Chateau inspired main residence.
