They reached out to Catalyst Construction with a clear goal: create a kitchen that felt fresh, functional, and connected to the rest of the home.

One of the biggest challenges was structural. A wall with a built-in double oven, plus a supporting post, divided the kitchen from the living space. To achieve the open-concept layout the clients wanted, we collaborated with an engineer to safely remove the wall and install a structural beam across the room. The transformation instantly gave the kitchen a bright, airy feel and allowed the heart of the home to flow seamlessly into the living area.

Design choices were guided by the clients, with UB Kitchens helping to fine-tune the details. Crisp white cabinetry paired with sleek black hardware creates a clean backdrop, while the rich blue-green tile backsplash brings a pop of personality and warmth. Waterfall marble-look countertops add a touch of luxury, and open shelving provides space for both storage and display.

A favorite feature of this remodel is also one of the most personal: the couple had a brass plate they wanted to incorporate into the design. With a little creativity, we transformed it into a custom wall sconce, wired with a dimmer so it can serve as both a functional light and a unique piece of art.
