Take 2 began as two guest cottages to a historic cabin overlooking the Potomac River and the C&O Canal. Although already under construction, StudioMB was asked to rethink the design as it was inadequate in size, materials, openness, and site orientation. The design's glass insertion marries the structures, links spaces, and opens up to views. The exterior materials—cedar, stone, and copper—tie the new to the old to create a holistic design.
