An expansive penthouse balcony overlooking a refurbished historic district was left somewhat unimagined by the original developer.

Previously living on an expansive acreage, the client intended to downsize; however, was not willing to forego natural gardens and personal space in a move to an urban setting.

Working in conjunction with Earthscape Creative Landscapes design and construction team, BLDG Workshop was engaged to create distinct living and landscape spaces to coordinate with views across the city. Varying textures and hardscape elements were used in conjunction with the plantings in order to create a lush garden retreat.

The project has won awards from Landscape Ontario in Special Interest Construction and Private Residential Design categories.
