The #Aurora is a portal that hangs mid-point on the stylistic continuum between rustic/traditional and urban/industrial.
Constructed from cherry-stained #bluestain #pine planks ar-ranged horizontally, the #Aurora is accented with three rusted steel bars that float vertically above the surface of the door and a rusted steel handle. The back side of the Aurora is also made from blue stain, tongue-in-grooved pine planks but with-out the steel bars accents or handle. We frame this door using the same rusted steel, metal which we oxidize in our workshop.

Aurora means ‘dawn’. We think the combination of the natural distressing found in the blue stain pine, the glow provided by the cherry-stain and the horizontal arrangement of the boards creates a portal within which one can find suns illuminating serene landscapes.
