The Pool Box (also known as Escondido) is a luxury secondary residence, pool house, and custom landscape design located in Horseshoe Bay, Texas (78657). Set in a rolling Hill Country community, the project integrates a standalone cabana structure, a custom sculptural pool, and native Texas landscaping alongside an existing estate.


Design Challenge & Architectural Solution

The Challenge: Integrating a new secondary residence, pool, and outdoor living area seamlessly into a rolling Hill Country lot without disrupting the existing main home or natural topography.

The Solution: A stepped architectural layout that guides visitors down from a quiet, native landscape entry into a sunken entertainment pavilion with large operable glass doors that open directly to the water.


Key Architectural & Design Features

Sunken Entertainment Space: A carefully designed interior lounge featuring large glass sliding doors that open seamlessly onto the pool deck for indoor-outdoor entertaining.

Sculptural Swimming Pool: A custom-designed pool framing views of the Hill Country landscape and taking advantage of natural Texas daylighting.

Native Hill Country Landscaping: Thoughtful site design featuring soft native plantings, stone pathways, and quiet entry sequences that blend architecture with the environment.
