The Ranch Museum
With a program to fuse a ranch house headquarters with its owners’ private museum of collectables joined seamlessly into one structure an environmental whole emerges. While complimenting the natural wonder of this working South Texas Gulf Coast Plain heritage ranch and feature relics of world-wide travels the architects build this ranch headquarters and a world-class museum results, a whole unified museum/residence organism greater than the sum of its complex parts. At the architects’ insistence, this sprawling ranch house/museum complex is heated and cooled geothermally by a spring-fed lake an untapped asset existing historically within sight of residence itself, a residence festooned now with natural, open-air porches
