The Unintended Remodel

A devastating fire destroyed much of our clients' home. The plan to remodel in a couple of years turned into a new plan called "Now". Custom cabinets by The Wood Connection, San Jose. Construction remodeling services by Top Shelf Construction, Inc., San Jose.

Painted and glazed perimeter cabinets were contrasted with a stained cherry island that included a built-in seating area.

Traditional remodel

This custom range hood enclosure features pull-out spice racks on each side. The lighted glass-fronted cabinets provide an ideal place to store and display glassware. Drawers under the cooktop keep all the essential items close at hand.

The rich cherry tones of this custom island beautifully complement the adjacent painted cabinetry. Turned posts flank the built-in seating area and bookcase.

The refrigerator acts as a message center in our clients' home, but the new wood paneled enclosure eliminated the possibility of using magnets - or did it? By replacing the inset panels with sheet metal and painting them to match, we have the best of both worlds! Our clients just tell visitors...

Magnetic wood refrigerator panels?

Cherry bookcases combine beautifully with a tiled fireplace insert. Audio/video components are concealed in the lower cabinets and utilize radio-frequency (RF) remote controls.
