The Westside Modernist Residence
The Westside Modernist Residence is a complete remodel of an Upper West Side home, reimagined through a mid-century modernist lens. The residence includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a home office, and a library den—each space unified by clean lines, warm materials, and a soft, airy palette.
Light oak and warm white cabinetry flows throughout the home, complemented by subtle wallpaper textures, refined lighting, and custom millwork libraries that provide both sculptural beauty and practical storage. A sleek glass wall separates the living area from the home office, allowing natural light to flow gracefully while maintaining openness.
The Living Room
The living room is a true sanctuary for book lovers, featuring an extensive floor-to-ceiling library paired with curated artwork and a warm, modern fireplace. The space invites relaxation, reflection, and quiet luxury, embodying the spirit of modernist comfort.
The Den
The den features beautiful walnut cabinetry with a mid-century flair, combining warmth and sculptural design to create an inviting, elegant space for leisure or work.
The Home Office
Chic and airy, the home office is designed for both productivity and flexibility. A concealed Murphy bed with an attached sofa allows the space to seamlessly transform for overnight guests while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic.
The Kitchen
Despite structural challenges—including a column positioned directly within the island—the kitchen was artfully transformed into a modern kosher kitchen. Two-tone cabinetry in light oak and satin white provides abundant storage, while double dishwashers support daily function. Calacatta Gold quartz countertops elevate both the island and perimeter with subtle elegance. A dedicated coffee nook adds a touch of indulgence. The Queen pendant lamp from the Marie Burgos Collection crowns the island, its rust and gold finishes casting a warm, sculptural glow at the heart of the home.
The Bathroom
The bedroom’s ensuite bathroom is modern yet full of character, thoughtfully designed with clean lines, refined materials, and subtle design accents that elevate both function and style.
The result is a serene, contemporary residence that blends mid-century modern influences with thoughtful craftsmanship—an elevated retreat in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
