Family gatherings, pool parties, daily cooking, baking and socializing are all regular occurrences in the kitchen for these homeowners. We all know the party always ends up in the kitchen! Based on the obvious needs of this family, deciding to take over the family room as part of the kitchen was an easy decision to make.

By doubling the size of this kitchen and adding a pantry, we were able to quadruple the amount of storage, usable space and fun! A tile floor was a must since the pool is just steps outside of the patio door. The island sink was also a must because of all the prep work done by these homeowners. Access to the wine fridge and regular fridge without getting in the way of the chef made sense in this kitchen. Grab your ice and your drink without slowing down progress!

The large island which seats six allows guests to hang out while the chef prepares the food. The TV is perfect for watching a game or putting on your favourite show while preparing before the party. Leaving the original fireplace keeps the space warm in the winter and sets the ambiance for dinner. The dining room is open to the kitchen and the fireplace is visible from all angles.
