Traditional to Transitional

The goals of this project were to design the front yard to improve the curb appeal of the residence and create a more functional and beautiful back yard . Due to the natural slope of the site, a natural drain system was added to manage storm water runoff in both the front and back yards.

Before
Front of the house with grass and ground covers, and beautiful specimen Coast live Oak tree. Increase the curb appeal and create a more beautiful, low-maintenance, drought-tolerant and sustainable landscape.
Traditional to Transitional
We removed all of the grass and replaced it with colorful, drought-tolerant plants including a combination of Australian hybrids, California Natives and assorted other hybrids. We used a flowering and fruit-bearing ground cover to help with erosion control and to encourage wildlife visitors.
