Traditional With a Modern Twist
Alto Design put a modern spin on a traditional family home on Cincinnati’s east side. The first floor is an open plan concept combining Kitchen-Dining-Living. The second floor houses all four bedrooms with the main stair separating the Master Suite from the dormitory style kid’s bedrooms. Energy efficiency is maximized with a liquid applied air barrier, exterior rigid insulation and a non-vented roof. All hardwood flooring and much of the casework in the home was sawn from reclaimed ash trees harvested from the site. Joe Stewart Builders was the general contractor, and the design team was Andrew Schaub and Ina Kratzsch.
