Transformation for a dated landscape.
When I arrived on this site, the homeowner had already removed 13 trees. The 1- acre site, a pine and oak forest of mature trees, provided a good natural setting for the large ranch home but little possibility for success with other materials, He was, however, on the right track.
This couple moved from Montana to be closer to their kids and grandchildren. They wanted a landscape that invited outdoor activity.
We designed a large 20'X20' two-tone gray granite patio and natural stone fire pit. We removed all the overgrown and misshaped shrubbery, installed hydrangea varieties, mid-sized Miscanthus grasses, Chinese red Cinco de Mayo roses, and a hedge of Privet. We planted an understory of dogwood trees to provide privacy and interest from the street. We expanded the lawn area to include a putting green.
This work required another round of tree removal and the addition of 50 tons good organic compost soil and small wood chips to increase the health of the soil going forward.
