After remodeling, by changing the location of the refrigerator, this kitchen has become more functional, with more counter space where it is most needed: between the refrigerator, sink and range. The empty space in the middle became better utilized by adding an island with an attached table. The soffits were removed and open shelves were added around the window to provide a more open, airy feel.
