Transitional Penthouse Design
Soudi Amini Design conceived this Amelia Island penthouse for her client / friend who has moved from Connecticut. This penthouse apartment offers exclusive amenities, with a wraparound balcony looking over the Atlantic Ocean with breathtaking views. Soudi's client was interested in re-creating the look of a typical Floridian penthouse to suit her lifestyle.
When the 3,500 square feet penthouse renovation started, Clayton Buchanan, a builder from Fernandina Beach was brought on board to bring the client's wishes and Soudi's design to reality.
This typical penthouse condo started to get its makeover. Among all the improvements were new custom kitchen cabinets, a wall system in the study, a guest bedroom, walk-in closet, master bathroom with luxurious custom cabinetry, custom designed built-in cabinets in the dining room (made by Floridian Custom Cabinetry of Jacksonville), a new coffered ceiling in the living room, a redesigned fireplace and new flooring.
In the living area, there are a pair of McGUIRE lounge chairs in Kravet fabric, a custom made Baker sofa in a Holland & Sherry fabric, surrounding a McGUIRE cocktail table. The art work and sculptures are from the client's private collection. The console table is by Laurel Canyon, and the custom made rug is by J.D STARON.
This airy kitchen was designed for my client's every day use with cool tones and soft organic textures contrasting with custom build elegant cabinets. White and gray Quartz was used for island and water fall style bar which create clean look but inviting design sachem in this kitchen.
The master bedroom, the client wanted a relaxing room would allow for a place to unwind- the club chair, use of soft and calming color pallet and use of drapes
in this room helps to anchor and soften the Windows, while the area rugs added texture and softness.
The bathroom feels pure and clean, and is an oasis of calming version of white. The custom made vanity cabinet and purl texture musics back splash brings in another layer of softness and elegant touch of living by the ocean front. The luxurious free standing soaking tub was something the client wanted to add to the bathroom to provide a focal point. The clear window above focal point and our elegant chandelier above soaking tub create interest in the room.
