Original kitchen was dimly lit, small island and not much room for storage. The bookcases between the family room and kitchen did not allow the area to feel welcoming and provide a feeling of inclusion. The original tile in the entry way, and throughout the family room was green and the homeowner wanted to blend the tile color into the cabinetry We also wanted to replace the kitchen window so light would still flow into the kitchen but provide a more attractive view. The original fireplace mantle did not go with the motif of the home so the goals were to tie the family room into the kitchen, provide more storage in the cabinetry, and make the entire area a welcoming place for friends and family.
