Upper East SIde Terrace
This space—a very high, pitched, unusable roof—originally was a collection of the surrounding buildings’ back walls, AC units, pipes, a fire door and an elevator shaft. To hide this our partners (interior designers) designed custom cedar façade hiding what it needed to hide, yet offering access to utilities. A custom storage bench and cabinets accessorize the wet bar and kitchen area with aromatic cedar. We built a functional deck out of composite wood, in pallets for easy access to the roof underneath; long steps accommodate the roof pitch descending to the synthetic lawn area. It’s now the go-to roof bar for the owners and neighbors.
