The conversion of a part of the Long Barn of this renowned Georgian model farm into luxury ‘farmstay’ holiday accommodation has ensured that the overall viability of this award winning organic farm for many years to come. Farming operations will continue to be housed in several other buildings on the site.

The alterations are sympathetic, highly sustainable and retain the existing rural character of the barns. PAD’s design approach breathes new life into the existing buildings in a sympathetic yet dynamic way. The double height living spaces allow the glorious proportions to be appreciated and help to give the cottages a feeling of spaciousness. Working closely with the client, quirky features have been introduced which fits with the ethos of the farm as a whole and the fun-loving nature of the client.

Planning permission was granted by the New Forest National Park Authority under delegated powers in May 2010. The project was awarded 'Agricultural Building Design of 2014' at the CLA & New Forest National Park Awards.
