This Tuscan Villa is inspired by the informal villas dotting the vineyards in Italy. At the exterior; mortar joints are left un-struck to mimic those farm houses, a warm-Tuscan colored burnished plaster peels away from the brick at the upper level windows, and reclaimed barn boards are used for the soffits and exterior ceilings. Inside, plaster groin vaults, a domed breakfast room that is modeled after the Pantheon, and interior walls of stone, brick and plaster. The walk-out lower level was created to emulate an original stone foundation with accents of herringbone floors and torch-like sconces lining the gallery.
