The design for this loft in the heart of downtown Minneapolis overlooking the Mississippi River involved stripping away all the excess and fussiness from the previous owner to reveal the great bones of this century old building that is on the National Historic Register. The new home is clean lined and minimal yet warm and homey. Spaces were provided for parents, a high school aged son, and a Study that can double as a Guest Room.
The couple, downsizing from a large home in St Paul, sold all but 3 pieces of furniture from their home. The design team was given great latitude by the Owners to help them create the next chapter of their lives by designing their loft and selecting all the furniture.
