Waterstone Residence
This modern mountain home, with detached guest cabin, was designed and built as a high end residence to be directly listed in the real estate market. Large windows and doors open up to the breathtaking river setting. The lighting design strove to illuminate key architectural elements such as the large mass stone walls and expansive ceiling planes while minimizing custom detailing. The main residence hosts a complete home control system while the cabin has limited control in the main living spaces. The control systems aid with energy savings, keeping fixtures dimmed as well as helping realtors to show the homes with simple “house on” and “house off” scenes. Creating a sense of home while retaining flexibility within the spaces was very important and was successfully managed by generalizing the lighting layouts with a few special accents to elevate the design.
