West Hill Kitchen

Light, bright and airy are words evoked by this family kitchen. It was previously a dark, closed-in kitchen, but with the removal of the wall to the living/dining room, the space has been dramatically transformed.

The old dark oak cabinetry felt heavy and domineering in this tiny kitchen. Poor lighting and an enclosed room added to the dark feeling within the room. The cabinetry no longer opened smoothly and the layout needed a serious reconfiguration.

This family's appliances and technological needs were outgrowing their old kitchen. The large fridge and the microwave are poorly-housed in this small nook. A makeshift communication center eats up prime real estate and is not easily accessible.

Guess which wall had to come down? While the homeowners grappled with taking this wall down, it was the best solution to accruing more storage space and allowing more light to enter the dimly-lit kitchen. An open space between the kitchen and dining room was best-suited for this family.

This stove wall is coming down! The layout of this kitchen changed dramatically in order to open up the space, adding more light, providing more storage and having better overall flow within the kitchen.
