Westlake Guesthouse

A hillside mid-century ranch, gutted and reconfigured as a guest-house. In order to reveal the dramatic landscape and expansive views of the lake below, walls and the low ceiling were removed, new windows and doors were installed, and a 2-level deck was added, creating an expansive shared-space (with only a small addition of square footage) for guests of the main residence.

A structural issue required a step remain in the guest bathroom, so the vanity placement and step tile were used to capitalize on the feature in lieu of a costly alteration. Silestone counter. Sink, toilet, and tub by Kohler. Faucets by Grohe. Step tile by Mosaic House, wall tile by Seneca Quarry.
