This project is a contemporary renovation of a traditional farmhouse in Weybridge, Vermont. Most of the exterior glazing was replaced with Marvin Integrity windows and doors. The renovation consisted of a very extensive gutting, and reorganization of the interior spaces. The kitchen underwent the most dramatic changes, where a poorly located chimney was removed, and the spaces were opened up much more to the natural light of the exterior with larger, and better organized window arrays. The building envelope was greatly improved with better insulation and waterproofing details. Structural deficiencies were addressed throughout and a new covered porch and screen porch were added with a perch-able staircase down to the freshly grade yard.
