Wicker Park Industrial Loft

This loft was designed for a husband and wife transplant from Denver. Ironically, the husband loved to buy art and the wife took a mostly hands-off approach. The space was extremely awkward to work with as it was a “bowling alley” layout. The challenge here was to create zones without the use of walls and allow for the home to cater to their needs on a daily basis and still allow for large scale entertaining. The home embodies the personalities of the people who live here. While there are personal elements there is a touch of whimsy. The whimsey is noted within the artwork and the mood of the residence. That includes a vintage Indian motorcycle, a 1960’s Austin powers-inspired bar, a 2 ton Buddha head from the jungles of Bali, and a 16th century opium daybed.
