Wilets Residence
Hidden among the residential streets of Tybee Island, Georgia, this contemporary residence brings a bright and stylish statement to the Lowcountry. A xeric "zen" garden along the driveway contrasts the fine texture of small gravel against large river rock, punctuated by drought tolerant native plants like yucca and agave. The entrance garden is comprised of a seating node deck with raised planter surrounded by lush bands of native grasses, accented with yucca and the owner's collection of contemporary planters and succulents. The backyard is divided into three intimate spaces: fire pit, reading room (shed) and arbor topped swing. The once sparse and shady backyard is transformed into a lush garden using fatsia, ferns leopard plant and native grasses.
